Learning Objectives
After this class, students will be able to
l Have a better understanding of the features of narrative articles;
l Apply effective writing skills through analyzing elements of a story;

1. Guide students to use structure diagrams to classify and organize text information, so as to grasp the structure of the article and the writing logic ;
2. Students know how to find frequency words.
Teaching procedures:
I. Reading
Activity 1 Greeting and features of narratives.
Q1:What type of articles are often used for continuous writing?
Expository Articles (说明文)
Argumentative Articles (议论文)
Narrative Articles (记叙文)
Q2:Narratives are stories with description of
settings, characters , plots and themes.
II. Exploring

III. Polishing language
Activity 1 Identifying and practicing
1. Vivid verbs as well as varied language patterns will be illustrated through comparative reading and with examples and to help students get a better idea of the significance.
2. Helping students solve difficult questions about the description of animal behavior by analyzing specific examples.
Activity 2 Applying and consolidating
1. Students are to apply what they have learned to polish one of their writing work and apply the skills to paragraph writing through group collaboration.
IV. Assignment
1. To polish your group work and put them into a coherent paragraph in order of time.
2. Exchange your draft with your study partner and polish for each other.
